Who We Are

Shifra and Puah was founded during Yom Kippur 5737 (1977,) by the Lubavitcher Rebbe. It was first brought to Kfar Chabad Israel, with the vision to help all Jewish mothers in every way possible, across the globe. Today, there are many branches of Shifra and Puah, each opened and operated as individual entities, yet all draw their inspiration from the Rebbe's vision.

Shortly after moving to Hillside, both Rochel and Shayna simultaneously began delivering delicious, nutritious breakfasts to local women who had recently given birth. By 5780 (2020,) they joined forces and formed Shifra and Puah of NJ, which continues to serve the Hillside/Elizabeth community with ever-expanding offerings for postpartum mothers. 

Shifra and Puah of NJ is made possible by many people—local moms who make Breakfasts, teenagers who volunteer their time, licensed professionals who provide expertise, and local businesses which donate quality products and services.
